Monica Höll works with installations, sculptures, paintings as well as drawings. Her installations are exploring and investigating rooms and can even fill the whole space fysically and by that transforming the room to the artwork. Höll uses different materials especially in her sculptural work. Her work with paintings is expressive and close to the concept of “action painting”. The aspect of the three dimensional can be found again in her paintings and drawings where she, with strong and powerful colours and curved lines, draws closer to abstract landscapes as well as to rooms of peoples everday life in an absurdistic view.
Monica Höll graduated from The Royal Art Academy in Stockholm 1990 and she has f e studied at E´cole National Suprieure des Beaux Arts, Paris 1984-1985
